Canada Oakridge Academy (COA) is a private high school approved and registered by the Ontario Ministry of Education. Holding accreditation for both on-site and online delivery (BSID: 667063), COA offers the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) — a program of high school credit courses for Grades 9–12 that leads to the diploma.

Dedicated to offering students worldwide a professional, intelligent, and exceptional online learning experience, COA leverages its strong faculty, rich educational resources, and advanced online teaching platform to deliver the OSSD program entirely through recorded lessons. Students can study at their own pace, unrestricted by location, and upon completing the required credits receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) issued by the Ontario Ministry of Education.

Content, Assessment and Communication

COA uses the D2L Brightspace online learning system — the designated e-learning platform for public school boards across North America. Through its intuitive interface, students can easily access teaching materials, track course progress, view grade reports, check system notifications, and manage all academic tasks at any time.

ESL

English as a Second Language

This course builds on students' previous education and language knowledge to introduce them to the English language and help them adjust to the diversity in their new environment. Students use beginning English skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for everyday and essential academic purposes.

Advanced Functions

Advanced Functions

This course extends students' experience with functions. Students investigate the properties of polynomial, rational, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions; develop techniques for combining functions; broaden their understanding of rates of change; and develop facility in applying these concepts and skills.

Visual Arts, Grade 12

This course focuses on enabling students to refine their use of the creative process when creating and presenting two- and three-dimensional art works using a variety of traditional and emerging media and technologies.

Communication

Classlist: find your classmates and instructor. Discussions: access all course-related group discussions. News: check announcements posted by the instructor or school. Pager: send instant messages to your teacher or classmates anytime.

Assessments

Dropbox: view assignment details — due dates, submission times, results, and teacher feedback. Grades: check your grades. Quizzes: find, select, and review completion status for all quizzes.
